Remembering passwords can be a real mess. In today's age of social networking and internet banking, security has become an important issue, so passwords make your account secure. To reset your password:
Online
Go to the Reset Password page.
Select the reason why you need to reset your password and click Next.
Enter the email address of the Microsoft account that you want to restore.
Enter the characters you see on the screen and click Next.
If you have security information about your account, it will send a one-time code to the alternate phone number or email address you gave it. After entering the code on the next screen, you can create a new password.
Windows 10 PC
On the login screen, enter your Microsoft account name if it does not appear. If there are multiple accounts on the PC, select the account that you want to reset.
Under the Password text box, select I forgot my password.
On the Restore Your Account screen, enter the characters that appear in the box below. Enter the displayed characters and then select Next.
On the Verify Identity screen, select to receive your security code either as text or as an e-mail message. If you select text, enter the last four digits of your phone number, then select Send Code.
If you receive the code as a text or email message on a separate device, enter it, and then select Next.
On the Reset Password screen, create a new password and then select Next. This will set your new password. Choose Next again to return to the login.
Now you can sign in to Microsoft account with your new password.
